Teacher Terms and Conditions

 

 

1i        Helping Learning is a product of Hidden Ideas Limited.

1ii       Throughout these terms and conditions, “we” refers to Hidden Ideas Limited trading as Helping Learning; “family“, “student” or “family member” refers to the person responsible for holding and managing the student Helping Learning username and password; and  “you” refers to the applicant who is submitting a registration to use the Helping Learning service.

1iii      For the purposes of this document, 'teacher' applies to any person registering to offer help to others and where this help is being provided 'free of charge' the references to fees do not apply.

1iv       Only teachers who have supplied evidence of holding a current CRB disclosure in UK (or relevant Police Check overseas), will be able to help students under 18 years.

1v      If you register with the Helping Learning service then you are agreeing to the following Terms and  Conditions which are currently in force and to our current Privacy Policy.

1vi      You are encouraged to view these Terms and Conditions regularly as we reserve the right to amend or add to them at any time and may not notify you of the changes.

2i       On receipt of your registration we will undertake certain checks which may include contacting your present or last employer and your training institution. We will also check whether or not you are registered with the General Teaching Council or Institute of Learning in UK or any similar body. We may require you to provide evidence of a current Criminal Records Bureau disclosure.

2ii       On receipt of your registration we reserve the right to refuse to provide you with access to Helping Learning in our absolute discretion.

2iii      We may terminate your access to Helping Learning at any time, without giving you prior notice, if we consider that you have breached any of the current terms and conditions.

2iv      You confirm that you do not know of any reason why you may not be considered for employment as a teacher in a UK state school.

2v       You may request that your right to access the Helping Learning site is terminated at any time. On receipt of this request, we will also remove you from our email list unless you request to remain on it.

2vi      You agree to uphold the highest professional conduct as required by the UK General Teaching Councils when you are using the Helping Learning Site.

2vii     You agree not to divulge your Helping Learning Username or Password to any other person and to keep it secure and safe at all times.

2viii    You agree not to contact or attempt to make further contact with any family member you have been introduced to through Helping Learning .

3i       When you accept a request for help through Helping Learning, you agree that you are entering in to a contract with the family that made the request and not with Helping Learning.

3ii       When you accept a request for help through Helping Learning you agree that 15% (fifteen percent) of the fee you have displayed on the website may be taken by Helping Learning as payment for providing the facility.

3iii      You acknowledge you are an independent contractor and that you will be solely responsible for paying all taxes and other liabilities that may become due in respect of the fees that you earn through using Helping Learning.

3iv      You agree that any dispute that may arise over the assistance you provide, is a matter to be resolved between yourself and the family that requested your help.

4i       You agree that we may display next to your details on the website, a rating that is provided by the student’s you have previously helped.

4ii       You agree to download and install the Skype software from their site www.skype.co.uk which will enable you to use the Helping Learning service and you agree to be responsible for all aspects of the use of Skype.

5i       You agree that we may hold the fees that you earn through using the Helping Learning service until such time as you request payment of 85% of those fees and you further agree that no interest will be due to you no matter how long that money rests in the account.

5ii       You agree that we may make payment to you by an electronic bank transfer to a U.K. bank account and that you will provide us with the full details for this transfer.

6i       You agree that we hold the Intellectual Property rights in all its various forms, to the Helping Learning service, its related activities, documentation and website material and that you will not attempt to compromise these rights in any way.
